Show Off

(Vintage Wedgwood and Fresh Strawberries)
Another amateur dabbling in photography. Cliche? Yes. It's become the white noise of the blogging world.
I have an excuse. As a painter, I need to take reference photos to paint from. Here are a few photos that I liked. I hope you enjoy them.
Critique, feedback, and suggestions would be welcome. I'm an artist. I can take it!
On principle and policy, I mention that the photos are copyrighted, and reserved for my use only.

(Magnolia Flower)
My friend Sue is a very talented potter. One day she made these lamps for her Sunday School students. Lucky kids!

Apart from haunting junkyards and classic car shows, I also haunt overgrown gardens, looking for onions gone to seed and blossoming weeds.
My current projects include a series of works in clay and watercolor focusing on the beauty of noxious weeds. Maybe I'll post some of them sometime. I can hear Mom's voice in my head now: "She's always been a strange girl."

You probably are a strange girl... but look who's writing: your Dad, and nobody ever claimed I'm normal. Besides, I'd feel insulted, as you would.
As for photography, it's one of the perfect mediums for experimenting, especially since the dark room has done away with chemicals and darkness, and become a screen. Keep it up. After all, "I never would have thought half a truck could be art". ps, there is an airplane graveyard over in Tucson...
